Sleep Apnea Monitor Used to Detect Drowsy Driving


Sleep deprived news personality investigates the dangers of drowsy driving:
WEWS-TV Channel 5 news personality, Linda Passariello, undergoing continuous brain monitoring, reported how the lack of sleep dangerously affects a person's ability to drive. Without sleep for 36 straight hours, the Cleveland reporter performed normal activities and took several alertness and simulated driving tests using a portable wireless sleep monitor, the Crystal Monitor 16-S. The device, developed by Cleveland Medical Devices Inc. (CleveMed), was used with newly developed brain monitoring software designed to pinpoint her states of alertness.
