CLEVEMED DIRECTOR OF NEW RESEARCH, MATTHEW TARLER, PHD, NAMED ONE OF TOP 30 BIOSCIENCE PROFESSIONALS IN THEIR THIRTIES IN OHIO

CLEVELAND, OHIO, May 23, 2007 - Cleveland Medical Devices Inc. (CleveMed) announced today that Matthew Tarler, PhD, Director of New Research at CleveMed, was named one of the noted thirty bioscience professionals in their thirties. This honor was featured in the article "30 in their Thirties: 30 Ohioans Shaping the Bioscience World Now" in the Accelerating Excellence Magazine, which is the official publication of Ohio Bioscience.

Dr. Tarler's work has been, and continues to be, instrumental to the development of a wide array of technologies for the world of bioscience. These technologies include: pressure sore prevention and monitoring; wireless, high resolution Holter monitoring for long term applications; activity monitoring; diagnostic monitoring for movement disorders; alternative medicine efficacy studies; novel, ultra thin shear force sensors; and a rapid application EEG electrode. His ability to work in such diverse areas propelled him into his current position as Director of New Research at CleveMed.

According to Hani Kayyali, CleveMed President, "CleveMed hires brilliant, hard working scientists who are critical to our success and future growth. CleveMed is very fortunate to have Dr. Tarler. Not only is he a very creative and experienced scientist leading CleveMed's new research, but more importantly, he is one of the best team players I have ever known. Dr. Tarler's ability to be a team leader, combined with his strong bioscience foundation, makes him an integral component to our company's success."

Dr. Tarler has contributed to the bioscience community not just through the technologies that he has worked on, but also through publications and presentations. In addition to being the principal investigator on a number of National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants, he was awarded seven patents.
