FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CLEVEMED RECEIVED 2006 WEATHERHEAD 100 AWARD TO HONOR RAPID COMPANY GROWTH
CLEVELAND, OHIO, December 13, 2006 -
Cleveland Medical Devices Inc. (CleveMed), a leader in miniaturized wireless telemetry, physiological monitoring and rehabilitation devices for the medical, research and academic communities, was announced to be among the 2006 Weatherhead 100 award recipients. The Council of Smaller Enterprises, Greater Cleveland Partnership's small business branch, and the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University unveiled the award recipients on December 5th at the Weatherhead 100 Awards Dinner. The prestigious award is given to honor Northeast Ohio's fastest growing companies. This is the
seventh time since 1999 that CleveMed has been awarded this honor.
Companies were considered for the award based on their sales growth between 2001 and 2005, and it was CleveMed's growth rate of 112 percent that ranked the company among the 100. The company's significant increase in clinical product sales boosted overall company sales and kept the company among the fastest growing in the area. Companies must have also had at least 16 full-time employees by 2005.
"We are proud of our employees' efforts to keep creating new medical products that are receiving FDA clearance to market and being sold around the world. This is bringing wealth to the City of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County and the state of Ohio," said
Robert N. Schmidt, CleveMed Chairman and Founder.
As Chairman of both CleveMed and Orbital Research, Inc., Mr. Schmidt has received 15 Weatherhead 100 awards. This is his seventh honor for CleveMed and his eighth for Orbital Research, Inc.
